Yeah so the other night I fell asleep on the couch, when I woke up it was like 1am. So I cleaned up all my stuff, said goodnight to the cats (Yes I say goodnight to my cats! I do that cuz I love them and because I want to make sure they're not closed in a room all night.), and went up stairs. I finished some things in the office, then went into the bedroom where I saw the sexy man half awake watching some thing on PBS, and Hermes sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the tv. Is he watching tv? Well it would make sense since we have an HDTV and there was a snow leopard on it!
At one point in the program the snow leopard was marking its territory, and we all know how cats do that...dig and spray. Well when the snow leopard did that Hermes stood up on his hind legs and was trying to get the big cat! He was like, HEY! That cat just pee'd in my house!
After that I just had to get the video camera! Usually when I go and get the camera they move and you lose your shot. This time he was still interested in the snow leopard on tv. Hermes was watching and watching and watching. At one point the female snow leopard was on top of a mountain meowing deeply. Hermes made a little noise and tried to get closer to the tv. Then a male cat came into the picture, he found his way up to the female cat and they matted! Well Hermes stood right up on his hind legs again when they did that! HEY! I want some of that!
After that the program was over. I thought that was quite amusing at how my little old house cat acted to those big old snow leopards, especially when they were on tv! It just goes to show you, a cat is a cat, no matter it's size or location. And if a cats territory is threatened, he'll try to protect it, even if that other cat is on tv.
The next day I searched TIVO for snow leopards and I believe I found the show we were watching. So I made sure to tape it so Hermes can watch his snow leopards over and over again!
