Surprise!

Yeah so this past weekend (October 15th) my sister and I threw my parents and grandmother a combined surprise party at Buca di Beppo. (My parents have been married 35 years and my grandmother is 75 years old.) It was a little troublesome planning and trying to keep secrets from everyone, but in the end it all turned out!

We were in the banquet room with 2 other goups, well when my grandmother walked in we yelled "Happy 75th birthday!" Well so did one of the other groups in the room. So my grandmother was looking at this other table going "Who the hell are all these people!?!" because they were not with our party so she didn't know them. Well she finally realized what was going on and that we were in the back. She was definitely surprised because she just thought the 7 of us were going out to dinner for her bday!

Well then it was my parents turn...I don't know about my dad, but my mom was sure surprised! They thought the same thing as my grandmother, only one step up...they knew about her surprise party. So my parents came in right after my grandmother and we yelled "Happy 35th anniversary!" The look on my mothers face was priceless. Cause she was watching the look on her mothers face the whole time so she didn't see the guests that were there for them. So after we yelled my mother saw all the people there for them and her face just went blank she was so surprised!

Man we're good...I mean pulling off 1 surprise party is hard enough, but 2 at the same time...yeah we're good!

Anywho-my family is a little crazy, so enjoy the pics:

Aw kids....

Yeah so 2 weekends ago (October 7th) was my husbands 28th birthday. So originally I invited a few of his really close friends up for the weekend to party and eat mad chinese food. Well that fell through, but come to find out that Jake and Michelle were going to be in the Boston area for the weekend so we where all like "Hey get your asses up here and stay the weekend, bring the kids it will be a blast!" So they came up and we had a blast!

Jake and Michelle have 2 kids, Lena (2 1/2 years old) and Thalia (3 months old). The first thing Jake tells me is that "This weekend is either going to make or break you. You're either gonna want kids more or never want kids ever!"

Well friday is my day off and Michelle had some meeting to go to so I was surrogate mother for the day! Man was that fun, I had little Thalia on the front of me in one of those baby backpack things, and Lena either walked or was in her stroller. Jake and I and the kids went to Wrentham Outlets to do a little shopping since it was a nice sunny day. So towards the end of the day we got hungry so we went to the food court to get something to eat. Well I had to pee and Jake was feeding Thalia, so I had to take Lena into the bathroom with me. It was a little weird taking someone else's kid to the bathroom, especially when you're the one that has to go. So as I'm peeing Lena's like "You're peeing!" and as I was whipping Lena was like "Yay you did it!" It was a little weird for me cause all I could think about was this is child porn and I'm gonna get arrested some how. Even though I'm sure most people thought she was my kids so there really wasn't a problem. Anywho-so after lunch we picked up Michelle and then headed back to my house for some dinner, bday cake and presents!

The next day we all went to Boston to go to the New England Aquarium, man was that crazy! Besides the fact that it took us about an hour to park, it was semi rainy that day so EVERYONE was at the aquarium. So we did that for a few hours, then we headed off to Chuck E. Cheese's because it would be fun and we figured there wouldn't be a lot of people there. We had fun, but man was there a shit load of people there!

Onto Sunday, we slept in and then headed on out to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast...man they got some good food there! After breakfast we went back to our house and relaxed for a bit before Jake and Michelle had to leave. Now going back to the begining of the weekend to prepare my story....
As most people know when kids are young they like to repeat the things they hear. Well we have 2 cats, Hermes and Zazou, Lena was chasing Hermes all over the house saying how soft and cute he was. Well my other cat Zazou, she's a little shy so I was telling Lena that "Zazou is shy so you have to be extra gentle with her because she thinks you're going to hurt her." Well after I said that Zazou jumped off the chair and ran for her box, and of course Lena ran after her. And as Lena was running after Zazou she was saying "Bazoo I love you, I would never hurt you!" (By the way 2 year olds don't talk so well so Zazou turned into Bazoo and Zaboo.) Later I was talking to Zazou telling her that it was ok, Lena won't hurt you sweet heart. So Lena was saying the same thing "It's ok sweet tart, I love you Bazoo, you're so cute."
And getting to the point of the story...Lena and I were playing with some Legos or "blocks" as she calls them. I was building something and ran out of the color I needed so I said "Oh damn" and "Shit". Well right after I said that Lena goes "Oh damn!" and she said it like 3 times, well when Michelle heard that, Lena's middle name got used. But it was also kinda funny cause a 2 year old was swearing so Michelle was yelling at Lena while trying not to laugh! Then Lena said "Shit!", so of course we had to hold back more laughter! So I said to Michelle "Well I guess there's no more swearing around Lena!" And Michelle said "We swear all the time and she NEVER repeats what we say!" So then I was like "Well I guess there's no more swearing around Lena for K-Lo!" (Cause pretty much Lena said it cause I said it.)
So I learned that you can swear around your own kids, but don't swear around someone elses kids cause when they start swearing, it's all your fault!

And as far as the make or break thing...originally we wanted to wait a few years to have kids because of all the hassel. Having kids is a full time job and we didn't want to have to deal with that crap or deal with luggin around all of our kids crap. So for me I definitely wanted to wait because it was getting to the point where I didn't even really want to have kids cause they're such a hassel!
But after that weekend, I wanted kids sooner then later! Even though it was someone elses kids and they were only here for 2 1/2 days, we took on a lot of responsibility with their kids. We know that every child and parent is different, but they gave us an idea of what our kids might be like since the 4 of us are so much alike and have the same morals and values when it comes to raising a family. And as far as lugging around our kids crap, it just doesn't seem like such a big hassel any more.
I'm excited about having kids, and I miss having Lena and Thalia around! Thalia didn't do much but eat, sleep and poop, but Lena...that's where all the fun is. She is such a well manored girl and such a sweet heart.
So when we are a little more financially stable we'll be ready to have kids because of the experience we had this weekend. Which is much better then forcing the idea of kids on someone because you're getting older and don't want to wait any longer to have them, but you're not really ready!

So thank you Jake and Michelle! :)

Bork Bork Bork!

So the sexy man just discovered this new thing with mozilla...extensions! Basically you can download themes and other cool junk for mozilla. Well one of the things he found was "Swedish chef talk", download this and it will translate your web page as if the swedish chef from the muppets was talking. It sooo rocks! We were laughing our asses off!!!
Here's a little sampling!
"....Su ooff cuoorse-a I stuud in leene-a vheele-a Ireec boooght a bouk. And the best part besides the fact that it's free...is the fact that it throws in a random "bork bork" every now and then! I love the swedish chef!

The best picture in the world!

Yeah so my Unlce Donny sent me this box in the mail like mad long ago...it was filled with party hats and noise makers. Well with my family that's a sign of war! It's really just a joke, all fun and games, but my family has a warped sense of everything.
When the box came in the mail I was like "Oh it's so on, I'll get you back Unlce Donny when you're least expecting it!" and my husband was all like "It's just party hats K-Lo, you're gonna get revenge on him because of some party hats!?!" In my family...yes!
For the longest time I thought of what I could do....
I finally thought of a way to start it....
I first took a picture of the dresser in the TV room. Then I took a picture of each of my cats with some of the hats and noise makers. Then I cut and pasted each cat onto the dresser picture...and voila...instant cat party scene!
I sent the picture to my Uncle Donny along with a note..."You've forced a life of partying on my cats...Revenge is sweet!". Something along those lines, I think I also put something about "when you least expect it blah blah blah". Well one weekend we went to a friends house down in the Peekskill NY area, so I sent the picture out from there! This way they have no clue who it's from until they open it!
Still haven't played my joke on them, can't think of anything good! So if any one has any suggestions feel free to post it in the comment area!
